Auto Express’s reliability ratings are based on our Driver Power survey of over 30,000 car owners. Ratings are the average for all owners of this car who responded. Individual owners’ ratings and comments appear below. It’s no surprise that current Audi A6 drivers continue to love its impeccable build quality, putting it in the top five of the 2015 Driver Power survey, although an overall drop of 28 places to 54th for the executive saloon is a concern.Largely it’s because of ongoing reliability niggles and especially high running costs, because elsewhere the A6 performs consistently above average: owners say its in car tech is fresh, and its performance, seat comfort and ride quality are all suitably business like.09 reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a yearOverall its a stylish car that has a good quality build. Economy is good (now that the local dealer has re mapped the engine) and low company car running costs for an auto. Only let down is some persistent squeaks coming from the rear of the car, which may in part be down to the amount of bumps being transmitted through the car via the standard sports suspension and large alloys.Reliability: 5/5 Build Quality: 3/555 reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 yearsbased on reports about the quality /realiability from various sorces including the Autoexpress, I purchased my Audi A6 Avanti Quattro 2.7TDI and have never looked back. I would have no hesitation in recommendingAudi to my friend, Infact after having used my car for two weeks my closefriend is now looking at changing his BMW 3 Series Touring for an Audi Q5Cars previous owner was a rep. car had a number of things that needed replacing. ie attention to rear suspension , replace air bag (it rattled) rear window motor replace. since then it has been utterly reliable. The annual audi service is expensive but I always make a point of asking that they tell me about problems so that I can have the parts replaced.2002 reg Diesel, Owner for more than 5 yearsOther than a few quirks associated with age it has been cheaper to run that a lot of younger diesel cars I known. Parts are fairly expensive as you would expect with an audi but not as much I I had anticipated. the reliability has definitely made up for that. fuel economy is pretty good so overall very satisfied.Overall an excellent and suprisingly economical motorway cruiser. Build quality and design is second to none.Have had to replace faulty Climate LCD panel under warranty and also the dual mass flywheel. All sorted no questions asked. Good dealers but shockingly high hourly service rate.Loved it. It has proved to be a comfortable and reliable car, having covered over 90k miles in less than three years. Nothing has gone wrong with it, servicing at Audi Swindon has been faultless and I have not regreeted it for a second (even when filling the very large fuel tank!)52 reg Diesel, Owner for More than 5 yearsA compromise to get space, performance, refinement and brand for a reasonable price. Multitronic gearbox is great, ride over potholes etc not so good. Incompetence of franchise dealers when fixing faults is a major burden (Backstreet speciailsts much better ) .
