Mobile Police released new information about the deadly crash on Interstate 65 involving an 18 wheeler. According to a preliminary investigation, the crash happened when a Toyota Sequoia merging onto I 65 from Airport Blvd, hit a Volvo tractor trailer tanker that was traveling northbound on I 65. The tanker then swerved left, jackknifed,
and hit the overhead sign post. The tanker then overturned over the median into the southbound lanes of I 65.
The driver of the tanker was ejected from the and pronounced dead on the scene.

UPDATE: Mobile Fire Public Information Officer Steve Huffman says the material that leaked from the 18 Wheeler is not hazardous.
The paperwork for what chemical was being transported was wrong in the truck. Airport Boulevard is now open, but I 65 remains closed for clean up.
At this time we do not know where the truck is from or where it was heading.
