Saturday after Carter was reportedly “assaulting” multiple vehicles stopped in traffic.

Ramos arrived on scene and spotted Carter walking away from the scene and told him to stop. Carter turned around and brandished a knife with a 3 inch blade, police said. Ramos pulled his stun gun on Carter and ordered him to drop the knife, but deployed the stun gun when Carter made “aggressive movements” and slashing and stabbing gestures toward the officer, according to the report

The stun gun didn’t work because of the clothing Carter was wearing. She said she thought he wanted to kill her.

At that time, the officer deployed the stun gun a second time but was again unsuccessful. When Carter tried to enter the sedan, the officer pulled his handgun and again ordered Carter to drop the knife.

After hiding behind another car and briefly trying to flee, Carter got on the ground and surrendered the knife and was placed into custody, according to the report.

Carter then reportedly told the officer that he “wanted the cop to kill me,” and that he was attempting suicide by cop. Carter has several previous arrests for assault, domestic violence, burglary and criminal mischief.

Carter was taken to Boulder Community Health with cuts on his hand. No officers were injured, and the passengers also weren’t injured. Martin.

The attempted murder and first degree assault charges are both class 3 extraordinary risk felonies, which carry a maximum prison sentence of 16 years.

The second degree assault and attempted second degree assault charges were filed after Carter reportedly spit on and attempted to spit on two other officers, according to the charging documents.

In case you missed it: Freo v Crows

There no better way to spend a day off than at the beach, which is where David Mundy could be found on Monday morning lending a helping hand to a group of Coastcare volunteers.

The day after picking up 19 disposals in his JLT Series appearance for Fremantle against Adelaide at Strathalbyn Oval, Mundy was at Leighton Beach helping Coastcare with work to protect the sand dunes in the area.

they doing a bit of planting and setting up some tree guards for some of the planting they done previously in the hope to stabilise the sand dunes and try and protect what we can, Mundy said.

there been a quite a bit of disturbance with beach access and things like that and it really important to try and stabilise the sand dunes to really protect the natural processes that go on. ocean is a passion of Mundy with the 272 game player looking to find a career in marine protection after AFL his AFL career.

important to us all isn it? It our home and a lot of us live really close to the coast, Mundy said.

studying marine science at Murdoch and it something that I really care about.

guys at Coastcare are doing a fantastic job in rehabilitating and protecting our sand dunes. is entering his 10th year at Murdoch as a part time student, where he won an academic performance award in 2017.

Freo take it up to Crows

Richmond success sending star midfielders Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin into attack could provide a blueprint for Fremantle to follow in a bid to boost its scoring power, according to David Mundy.

Mundy and Nat Fyfe both spent time inside 50 against Adelaide on Sunday, with Fyfe booting two goals and providing a strong aerial presence in a sign he is nearing his Brownlow Medal winning best.

Mundy played deep forward at times last year famously kicking the match winning goal after the siren in round eight against the Tigers and the former captain believes he and Fyfe can impact the scoreboard more this season.

“I think we saw it last year with Richmond especially with Cotchin and Martin spending a lot of time forward, and they’re very damaging players in their own right,” Mundy said.

“But I think it certainly helps, especially with our structure and the people we have at our disposal, that myself and Nathan especially can move forward and provide a bit of an aerial target.

“It’s a role that I played last year a fair bit.

“Obviously it’s easier to play in a team that’s moving the ball really well and playing really well, and it has its challenges when we’re not.

“But I’ve certainly been training up a lot in pre season in that role. It’s something I’m really excited about.”

Fremantle continue to search for reliable marking targets, but saw more promise from Matt Taberner on Sunday, with the former rookie plucking three contested grabs and booting three majors.

“I think the signs are positive for Matthew. He certainly works hard at his craft,” Mundy said.

“He’s got a little bit of a way to go but there’s not many 200cm big hulking men running around.”

Fremantle were on track for a confidence boosting win over the Crows before a late lapse, with Adelaide’s three goal burst securing a 10 point triumph.

Mundy, who liked what he saw from new faces Andrew Brayshaw, Stefan Giro, Lloyd Meek and Bailey Banfield, conceded there was some “disconnect” in the dying stages.

“(We were) lacking a bit of leadership perhaps from some of the older guys and a bit of inexperience with some of our younger guys being in key positions within those plays,” Mundy said.

“But you can really nail it down to one or two key things within those. We’ll train those up and we’ve got four weeks until round one.”

Fremantle scrapped hard against the Crows and Mundy declared they want to become a tougher opponent after winning four games in 2016 and eight last year.

“We understand where we’ve been in the last two years especially and we understand that we don’t want to be that again,” he said.

“We’ve really identified some key areas to turn it around.

“It’s more about the ethos of being hard to play against, bringing the effort and intensity we can really be proud of.”

Mundy, who is studying marine science at Murdoch University, was speaking at Leighton Beach on Monday to promote protection of WA beaches and helped Coastcare volunteers rehabilitate sand dunes.

‘He’s so happy’ Brayshaw settles in

Fremantle veteran David Mundy believes he can play every game in 2018, and insists he won’t be putting his “hand up to get off the bus” for a rest.

Mundy, 32, is the third oldest Freo Docker on the list behind Aaron Sandilands (35) and Michael Johnson (33) and his experience remains important to a youthful squad.

Ahead of his 14th campaign in purple, the former skipper wants to continue guiding the club’s rebuild and is confident his body can hold up for another 22 game marathon.

“I’m certainly not going to put my hand up to get off the bus or have a rest or anything like that,” Mundy said at the team photoshoot on Tuesday.

“I’m preparing my mind and body as I do every year.

“My goal every year is to play as much football as I can and to play as well as I can, so that hasn’t changed.”

Mundy appeared in all but one game last season and finished fourth in the Doig Medal.

Despite his solid form splitting time between attack and midfield, there was speculation he might weigh up retirement at the end of last year.

However, the 272 gamer never seriously considered hanging up the boots.

“Not really. Mind and body still willing and able, I feel. The club obviously thinks the same or they wouldn’t have asked me back,” he said.

“As long as we have that kind of connection, that kind of relationship, I’m more than happy to ply my wares at Fremantle.”

With 22 players joining the club since the end of 2016, Mundy forecast Freo’s game style would evolve this season as Freo seeks to build on last year’s eight wins.

“Obviously we want to win games of football, so regardless of how we go about and do that, that’s our ultimate goal,” Mundy said.

“Sometimes we mightn’t play as well as we’d like and fans mightn’t be as attracted as they possibly could be, but our ultimate goal is to win games of football.

“Personally, if we kick five goals and the opposition kick four, I’m more than happy to win games like that.

“So we’re just working through that at the moment.

“As I mentioned before, (we’ve had) 22 new guys into the club over the last two years so the education process is really heavy at the moment and really intensive for those guys.

Portland nonprofit leader says he wants to spend time with family, but paper cites upcoming article

Portland nonprofit executive Charles McGee has dropped out of the race to represent District 2 on the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners, but the reason why remains a matter of debate.

The longtime head of the Black Parent Initiative said in an announcement that after discussing the matter with his wife, he’d decided that with two young children, it was “the wrong time to pursue a career in politics.”

The newspaper Willamette Week, however, immediately reported that McGee, 32, had dropped out in response to questions about sexual assault allegations in his past that are the subject of an article set for publication on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

It is unclear what allegations the paper is citing. And McGee did not respond to emails requesting comment from the Portland Tribune.

McGee has already faced some scrutiny over his relations with women. The Tribune reported on a stalking order filed against him in 2007, when he was 22. A D V E R T I S I N G Continue reading below

In that case, a 21 year old daughter of a local pastor said she’d repeatedly told McGee to leave her alone over the span of 18 months, but he refused. She added that she became alarmed when McGee allegedly entered her house without permission after she repeatedly told him go away. He left after she began screaming and was “preparing to defend myself,” she wrote in her stalking petition.

McGee denied entering the house or being violent in any way and told the Tribune he’d been a long term relationship with the woman contrary to her testimony and the recollections of her relatives. He said he had merely sought “closure” over a breakup. A judge rejected his denials and said the young man had been obsessed.

When asked about the case in December, McGee floated the idea with the Tribune of dropping out of the county race. But he did not do so, instead formally declaring in January. He unveiled an impressive list of endorsements that included current state lawmakers including Senator Lew Frederick; former state Senators Margaret Carter and Avel Gordly; former county board members Jules Bailey, Diane McKeel and Bev Stein; businessman Greg Goodman and political consultant Dan Lavey.

At the time of his announcement, McGee had raised more than $28,000 for his campaign for the county job, which pays more than $103,000 a year to oversee a $2 billion county budget.

Remaining in the race to represent North and Northeast Portland are candidates Bruce Broussard, Maria Garcia, Susheela Jayapal and Sharon Maxwell.

Over the years McGee has been vocal on schools, health and other issues. The announcement of his withdrawal says he hopes to continue his advocacy work.

On a project I working on, we needed a label that would show an ellipsis at the end. ( the 3 indicating there is more text but not enough space on the screen to fit it all )

Having this on a label control in Xamarin forms is easy, you just add the property

this will force the ellipsis to appear if needed.

But on a specific page we wanted to show more text to the end user and even than add an ellipsis if needed. So in other words we would love to be able to tell the label control how many lines it should at least try to display.

To get this working in Xamarin forms you need to add a custom renderer. Because the Xamarin forms label control doesn have any property available for us to manipulate to accomplish this.

This is not difficult at all to do,
Discount selfridges mulberry purse Outlet multi line label custom renderer gotcha
but there is a small gotcha with Android when you want to pull this off!

But let start with what you need to do to get this working.

It inherits from Label and we only need to add 1 dependency property called Lines, defined as an int. It looks like this:

It took me a while to figure this out ( I no Android expert ). But after taking a look in the Xamarin forms source code ( glad it open source ) I noticed they will always force a SetSingleLine(true) when setting the TailTruncation LineBreakMode .

TORONTO Caroline Mulroney, the Toronto lawyer and daughter of former prime minister Brian Mulroney, is running to become the leader of Ontario Progressive Conservative Party.

Mulroney confirmed the news, which has been rumoured for over a week, in a series of interviews Sunday afternoon at a hockey arena in north Toronto. She took questions from reporters between watching her two boys play on their Triple A teams.

The 43 year old mother of four said despite the recent turmoil within the party after the sudden resignation of former leader Patrick Brown, the Tories can come together and win the June 7 provincial election.

15 years of Liberal government we need a fresh change, she said. are tired. They want a new government. They want something new. So, I decided to put my name forward. I running for Leader.

am committed to making sure that we deliver this change, she said. deserve a government that cares about them. As I been knocking on doors, I know that I can be that leader and provide that leadership to the party. taking a quick break between interviews to snack on french fries her husband Andrew Lapham brings by, Mulroney gets down to business, addressing the criticisms which have already been levelled at her.

means they nervous, she said of her competitors in the race. can control what other campaigns do. All I can do is make sure I can run a campaign that true to the kind of person that I am. has already been criticized for spending part of her life outside of Canada she attended Harvard and New York University but she says the attacks don hold up.

just a misstatement of fact, she said. lived the majority of my life in Canada and Ontario. hours after confirming she was in the race, Mulroney received a key endorsement from another rumoured candidate. Former Postmedia executive Rod Phillips said he will not seek the leadership and will throw is support behind Mulroney.

and I, like many of our Party candidates across Ontario, represent a new generation of inclusive and accountable leadership for the Progressive Conservative Party, Phillips, who also the PC candidate for Ajax, said in a statement. will unite our party and lead us to victory in June, and I look forward to working closely with her to achieve that. also weighed in on some of the most difficult issues facing the Tories as they try to re group following Brown resignation. She intends to consult party members about the PC platform the so called People Guarantee but says it too early to say if she want to make changes to the document.

make sure we open to conversations, but it Day One of my campaign, she said.

Mulroney said she will stick to the PC pledge to cancel the Ontario government cap and trade climate change plan, but hinted that she will keep the Tory platform carbon tax, which funds most of the spending in the plan.

is something the federal government is imposing on all of the provinces, she said. have a choice to let them keep the revenue and administer it or we can make sure that we . put the money back in people pockets. I think we would be better suited to doing that than the Liberals are. also said she will not re open the divisive debate about the Liberal government sex education curriculum update.

Politics is just the latest move in a diverse career for Mulroney, who was acclaimed as a Progressive Conservative candidate in the riding of York Simcoe, north of Toronto, last August.

In 2011, Mulroney co founded the Shoebox Project, a non profit that collects and distributes gifts to women who are homeless or at risk.

Prior to announcing her political plans, she served as vice president of Toronto based BloombergSen Investment Partners, and used to work at a venture debt fund.

wasn her plan to seek the leadership. She was very, very focused on the riding and on the community and that where her efforts went, said Peter Van Loan, a legislator with the federal Conservative Party who acted as an adviser to Mulroney.

Though new to politics, Mulroney has shown herself to be hardworking and genuine, which has won her support in the community even among those who may judge her based on the family name, Van Loan said.

has intrinsic strengths and intrinsic talents of her own, whatever her name may be, he said.

Mulroney lack of political experience will likely be her biggest challenge, particularly against more seasoned candidates.

But Kathy Brock, a policy expert and political science professor at Queen University in Kingston, Ont., said it could also play in her favour, bringing some freshness to the Tories at a time where their interim leader has vowed to clear out the from the party.

is one of the ways in which being more of a newcomer . might actually be an advantage, given what the Conservatives are going through, Brock said.

Brown and former party president Rick Dykstra resigned within days of each other after being confronted with allegations of sexual misconduct, which they deny. The allegations have not been independently verified by The Canadian Press.

Mulroney entry into the race means there will now be two high profile women competing for the Tory reins, which could bolster the party image, Brock said. Former Tory legislator Christine Elliott threw her hat in the ring in the last week.

might be the type of thing that they need to get over the incident with Dykstra and Patrick Brown. It just gives them a new focus and new energy and it makes them look a little more current with the times, Brock said.

The nonprofit corporation operating the National Historic landmark plans to restore the landscape as it looked when Jefferson lived there two centuries ago. President Lynn Beebe referred to the ceremony Tuesday as a historic moment and part of a quest the nonprofit is on to discover Jefferson’s vision for the personal space he knew as his getaway.

“Up until this era, we have had more insight into the architectural part of that equation,” Beebe said. “Now we are beginning to reveal the part of the vision that has been out of sight for so many generations, his ingenious landscape design.”

Beebe, staff, volunteers and Garden Club of Virginia guests who helped in the project raised champagne glasses to toast to “Mr. Jefferson and getting it right.”

“Jefferson’s love of trees is well documented,” Gary said, adding he wrote of the mulberry trees as the most beautiful to have near a house.

Jefferson was very precise in how they were placed,
mulberry handbags uk Cyber Monday Mulberry trees planted at Poplar Forest
he said.

“So if you’re going to restore the landscape he designed and the trees he planted, you’d better get it right.”

The property passed through several families before the corporation took hold of it several decades ago. Beebe said there is no record the staff is aware of as to exactly what happened to the mulberry trees Jefferson planted.

Jefferson’s writings mentioned his interest in the trees in 1806, the same year he began building Poplar Forest, said Will Rieley, Garden Club of Virginia landscape architect. What makes them appealing is they grow so fast and, in about three years, visitors can enjoy a canopy of shade under them, he said.
